Recorded Orchestras
on: February 03, 2004, 10:55:39 PM
Hi,

First of all, I apology for my English, is not my native language.

I have a question.

A lot of years ago, my piano teacher show me a vinyl disc with the orchestration of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto. Only the Orchestra was recorded on that disc, not the piano. That way you can practice that beautiful concert without the necessity of an orchestra.

I’m looking on the Internet for that kind of recorded orchestras on CD or on any media. I’m not sure of what to ask for.

But that’s what I’m looking for.

Does any one here, knows something about that?

Thanks in advance,

There's a series called "music minus one" that does exactly what you are looking for.  Here's a link to their site: https://www.musicminusone.com/Main/Main.html  It has a wide selection of peices to choose from.  The recording even comes with the piano score.  Kind of expensive though.
