quoting someone else
on: December 25, 2006, 02:34:56 PM
i propose in 2007 the inability to quote someone and then change the interior of the quote for them.

LOL, I think that would be impossible, but don't worry, we already know Thal is just kidding around.
Besides, it's quite easy to see if the quotes are true or not, you just scroll upwards and read the previous statements.

Often I think it is useful to be able to quote a specific part of someone's post, rather than their post in its entirety.

no.  i mean they ERASE your quote and put in new words.  ie  i want your body.  i want to have your babies.  if thal doesn't erase this within two days - i am coming to england and pounding his head.

To quote only part of what somewhat said, it is necessary to erase part of what was there before.

eg:

i want your body.  i want to have your babies.

Sorry for using your comments out of context  ;D

I do understand what you mean though re quotation in general.

I agree that it should NOT be possible to change the text when quoting someone.

Humour was my aim when i did it and i would not do it to someone i felt i did not know, but it could be used nastily and give offense.

Now that i have done it, i don't think i can remove it myself.

Thal :-*

PS After carefully studying the forum rules (again), i don't think that i have broken any, but perhaps Mr Nils might want to create one.

I consider myself disciplined in advance.
