awesome!!! and he picked the right concerto, rather than that travesty that tchaikovsky called his 1st concerto.
T1 is Hamelin's fave concert... it's a great piece.
But this is too, I'd love to see it played with less musicality.

I don't have a scanner, it did mention the irony of it being so mainstream.Can you give one reason it isn't a great piece, anyway?
scan the page in the book where he says this. then i will believe you. it seems weird that he would pick such mainstream concertos, when he knows of so much more.
this is amazing! pletnev is just going at it? i mean - this wasn't written out. he's just improvising? that's really wild. and, it fits! the pinnacle of prowess. how did the piano survive? usually if you hear something this intense - the piano is so out of tune by the end of the concerto. what kind of piano is he playing, anyways?
I think it is written down, I didn't bother to follow the whole cadenza in the score but the end looks pretty similar to what Pletnev plays.
