Should be in public domain.  Don't post if it isn't.

My sheets indicate copyright 1960.

Sorry old chap.

Thal
That must be a publisher's copyright, then, since the composer himself died the previous year (1959); in any case, under the generally (though by no means yet universally) applicable 70-year rule, Villa-Lobos's work will remain in copyright in many parts of the world until the end of 2029.

Nice to see you back again, Thal! Happy New Year (albeit belatedly)...

Best,

Alistair

Thank you Hinty.

Happy new year to you as well.

My pleasure. And do drop the "Hinty" bit, please! (you know - make it something better than a New Year's rsolution to do so - that way, you'll perhaps not break said resolution). Alistair's the name, to those that know me...

Best,

Alistair

Duly noted.  I shall look for the original edition in USA.  If published here before 1923, I think it should be public domain (although certainly not your edition Thal, so thanks for your good judgment!)

Perhaps less trouble just to go buy it.

A Massive Glimpse Into Ligeti’s Pianistic Universe

Performing Ligeti’s complete Etudes is a challenge for any pianist. Young pianist Han Chen has received both attention and glowing reviews for his recording of the entire set for Naxos.
