WOW!  that chopin etude is really fast.  but -- (now don't get mad) - i would slightly alter the evenness just a tiny bit.  maybe at the 'return' a bit of rubato.  otherwise it sounds a little bit mechanical.  you are amazing!!

you have a slight fear of pedal.  i would lighten up the paganini (play less forte) at the beginning and get heavier later.

your piano is wayyy too sharp in the higher range.  i would tune just slightly (ever so slightly) under.  it grates on my nerves.  but, then - you can't please everyone.  this way you'll have MORE ringing overtones. you have some really nice ones - but the ones that are missing are obvious.

wow.  the top note rang really well - .  i think it's just a few notes (3-5) inbetween the octave that have to be fudged with.

you have a prokofiev feel to your playing. perhaps my only suggestion is to give different 'feelings' to everything instead of sharp precision.  lightening up just a bit.

just my gut feelings.  nothing personal.  sometimes it's a matter of one's own taste.  i prefer to hear paganini as though i am hearing a violinist just get carried away and really not 'precise precise' - but sort of extemporizing.  several of the variations are like this - and i really like them.  wow you have a lot of sounds and feelings - so it's not like you don't have them.  i'm getting used to your 'style.'

YOU PLAYED AT CARNEGIE!?!?!  well, what are you doing posting here?  i think you need mental help.  thanks for sharing with us!

what an amazing improviser you are!  my husband is american russian (several generations) - but i hear a sort of russian folk kind of 'start slow' get it rolling - kind of gypsy stuff going on.  and i love it.

have you ever heard ivan rebrov sing?  you remind him very much - with his artistry to project the balalaika and accordian in your playing - and extending ranges dramatically for the 'vocal line.'  i love it love it love it!!!

imo - if i went to carnegie to hear you - i'd go to hear that for sure.

dear mkaykov,  you MUST keep composing (and writing down your improvs).  write some vocal stuff - ok.  i have a ton of old russian folk music and tunes.  it would be so nice to have some decent arrangments. hmm.  you probably charge a lot - but anyways...just asking.

The Carnegie Hall that I am refering to is the Weill Recital Hall, not the Isaac Stern Auditorium.
