I know, I know, I am ressurrecting a really old thread.
But I just came accross this site which has a lot of the sheet music (for free) of Joe Hisaishi:
www.joehisaishi.net
For those who do not know him, he did the soundtrack for a lot of Japanes movies (Kitano's Sonatina amongst others), and for virtually all of the animes of Miyasaki. So if you enjoyed the hauntingly beautiful music of "Spirited Away" (Chihiro mentioned above), "Kiki's delivery service" and so on, have a look there.
For piano teachers: All the pieces are arranged for piano (and possibly facilitated) but they still sound amazingly beautiful and - joy of joys - can all be taught to complete beginners!
Best wishes

The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. (Hunter Thompson)
