Looking for music similar to Tchaik Op 37b
on: March 16, 2007, 01:06:32 PM
Hi,

someone once said in these forums that the Russian composers really had some harmonies out of ordinary and really worth hearing. Then I found Tchaikovsky's cycle 'The seasons' and was amazed by some of his pieces, namely the one for June.

I can't tell exactly what I like in here, if it is the harmony, the rhythm, the mounting emotion or the delicacy of the whole piece. I'd go mostly for the last two. Can you recommend me other pieces similar to this one in feel? It is really one of the most loveable music I've ever heard.

I didn't know Tchaik had composed so well for piano before I heard this, but now I'm impressed.
