In-n-out anybody?
on: March 23, 2007, 02:22:45 PM
Who else loves/has heard of this burger joint?  I think it takes all...  ;D  Have you eaten at one?  Have you even seen one?

It's great, but have you read "A Clockwork Orange"?  In-n-out takes on new meaning... and it's disturbing.

What is the UK's problen with food? No offense Henrah, but pineapple in a cheeseburger is, well, disgusting. Hop across the pond to Cambridge MA and go to Frank's Steakhouse. Then you'll know...

i think pineapple sounds kind of refreshing in a burger.  not the same old same old.  although, i have to agree that in-and-out is hard to beat for good ingredients!  we used to live in california and would go there about 10 - midnight if the three year old wasn't sleeping.  from all the ruckus from the intercom (and teenagers partying in the area) and him slurping a milkshake - he'd go to sleep as soon as were on the way back.  in-and-out - always meant to us - in to get a milkshake - out like a light.

my husband got hold of a bumpersticker and i pleaded not to put it on the car we drove - but he did it anyways.  never lived that one down.  it wouldn't come off either.  i tried as i might to get it off.  it wouldn't even take black permanent marker - because it was shiny.  so, the car had this bumper sticker for 10 years.  coming to conservative pennsylvania, it didn't go over too well.  the neighbors thought we were from outer space.

speaking of steak houses now - isn't there a really grand one in texas.  trying to remember the name of it. wow. they had good steak.  i think it was 'morton's' or something like that.

If you're going to put a pineapple slice on a burger, do it like so:

Bun
Onion
Pineapple
Burger
Sweet Barbeque Sauce
A little lettuce

Assembly is straight forward.  So is eating.

Too complicated for me! Just a simple version, the best bread you can find and good lean beef. Then serve it with proper chips and tomato sauce. Mmm...

Course you could just go with the beef... but that wouldn't be a burger.   :D  I also like mine with sliced habeneros.   ;D

I thought of clockwork orange too...

But that extreme closeup of the burger is hilarious!

Has anyone eaten one of those $100 burgers in New York? It has Foie Gras and black truffle in it and some other bits of crap.

pineappple is amazing on hamburgers...

But the best kind of hamburger isn't even made from beef...  Buffalo burgers are the ultimate. I actually cannot eat hambergers and hot dogs (incident at my grad after-party :$)  but I can still eat buffalo burgers and they taste so much better!  I am from Alberta and alberta has the best beef in the world.  (yes, better than texas, any texan that comes up here will tell you so when they have an albertan steak)  But buffalo.... oh man.... absolute yummiest!  I don't like buffalo steak though... weird... just buffalo hamburgers.

This is bailey the buffalo.  He wont get eaten.  He lives near me (relatively) and in fact was in the parade in the small town where my high school is. I got to march in front of him.  was very exciting.  Bailey actually used to come into the family's house because he's so tame but the floor in their house cant support his weight, now that he's full grown.  There' an article about Bailey in the time magazine this week which is pretty damn exciting.

I just went to a new burger joint/bar in town yesterday and it was called "Bison Witches".  Kind of a weird name, but if you say it a few times you will hear the hidden message...

The difference being?  Especially considering some burger joints serve their burgers with square patties...
