'will appear in recital mar 31 at reform congregation keneseth israel in elkins park, created a sensation two weeks ago when she played tchaikovsky's first piano concerto with the boston symphony orchestra.  wang, a 20-year-old student in her last year at the curtis institute of music, subbed for the international star martha argerich....' music critic david patrick stearns noted that well-wishers in boston called wang's appearance 'historic.'

ps she's very pretty in the picture on page five of 'arts and entertainment' section of montgomery newspaper mar 21/22, 2007.

address for elkins park:
reform cong. keneseth israel
8339 old york road
elkins park, pa  19027

saturday, march 31, 8 pm

?  the only thing i find a bit odd is that the 14th of nissan happens to be april 1st - counting that the 'new moon' is on march 19th.  so, the preparation for passover would effectively start the evening before (march 31) - wouldn't it?

in some small way i hope i encourage ms. wang to include something in the program that will inspire the congregation to be observant of the evening.  perhaps she will consider learning in haste a piano solo (medley) of tunes to end the evening with - that encourages jews to remain faithful to their traditions and also remain inclusive of all other peoples and talents.
