What do you think about him?
despite being from Sweden like him, I have to say he is overrated.
Good looks are just not enough

He actually started as a jazz drummer when he was very young, switching to piano when he was around 11 I think. He was actually talked about a lot as a drummer from what I've heard, having an original innovative style, which is quite impressive for a 10 year old!
I've only heard him on CD so far - playing Prokofiev, Scriabin and Rachmaninoff. I remembered that I liked Prokofiev and Scriabin, but that his Rachmaninoff sonata was really boring - it is not my favourite piece though..

I've been to his recital once... Awesome Scriabin and Bartok, not-as-stunning Liszt and Chopin. He should've inverted the order of his programme...
But the Scriabin 9th sonata was magnificent.

his interpretations of grieg are very intimate and some of the best ive heard. also, his rachmaninoff/shostakovich/lutosławski disk is really good too.
