This is convenient!
Perhaps a good idea for me -- not so much for the music publishers. Declining book sales, perhaps? This happened with music downloads, although those aren't public domain. It would probably be more difficult to replace the actual texts though, because of people's editorial preferences and just because of not having to deal with printing and having an actual bound book.
So I guess I have mixed feelings about this.
