The difference between you and Marik, Mr. Bar-niv, is that Marik is being respected here based not on what he says about himself but in the quality of his performances and by his good manners.  If you knew who Marik was, beyond the anonymity of this forum, his comments would matter much more to you than most other people.  Trust me.  ;)

Hey Josh,

I appreciate it, but you know frankly, it doesn't really matter. To argue with Mr. Bar Niv is not worth precious time... at least mine, so moving on...

Best, M

So, you claim I don't have good manners. Now in addition you also heard my performance and decided that the quality wasn't good enough to respect my opinion?

I'm merely pointing out that sometimes it's best to let others find out for themselves why it is that you should be respected.  You seem to enjoy trying to force others to respect you.  I think your youtube vids are good.  I don't agree that your Polonaise is better than Rubinstein, but that's my opinion.

Yes Rami, the cons of public forums... Unfortunately, one never knows when some kind of jerk butts in and tries to stub you right in your back, when you are seemingly on top of the things and least expect it :D

And now Ladies and Gentlemen, please listen to Rami, who is at least as good as Michelangeli or Argerich, and some think (including Rami himself  :o), that he plays Chopin Polonaise in A flat major better than Rubinstein.

Please make up your mind:

 ;D ;D ;D

True. It would have been such fun to twist my words against me--the usual Mr. Bar Niv's trick... For some reason he missed it this time :(

In any case:

I don't have any further questions to you, never had any to begin with.

You have a very short memory, Rami. In fact you DID ask me to point out your textual errors. I can post a link, if you wish to be reminded.... but something tells me you don't want it.

Please don't pretend it never happened.
And I DID point out those mistakes to you... many of them, numerous, plenty, много,  h'arbey... textual ones, i.e. you were playing NOT WHAT COMPOSER WROTE IN THE MUSIC!!!
And I was not even picky.

Of course, you will say that I talk nonsenses and my comments were "petty, student-like, academically-dry and lack a real knowledge and understanding of music, beyond the notes/rests/slurs", as you'd rather prefer me to say how ingeniouse your renditions were.

Don't forget Mr. Bar Niv, once again I repeat, people are not that stupid as you might think, and see very clearly who you are, and what you are, you old fool.

No need to reply.

Best regards, M

Rami, I've got a brilliant idea for you!!!!   ;D ;D ;D

K, ready?!!  You should make a transcript of this conversation and use it as promotional material for your camp!  I am sure your students would be overly impressed by your ingenious debating techniques, coupled with your god-like understanding of everything related to music and playing the piano!!  People would flock by the hundreds to hear your inspired words of wisdom from above, coming from you, a man who has mastered music in the fullest degree imaginable, to the point where you even can ignore what composers wrote in their music, while saying that someone who insists on such nonsense as honesty to the music is academically dry.  Afterall, you know better than them how music should sound, and to be your presence -- listening and learning from the master of redistribution!  mmmmm!

Don't you think this is a great idea?   8)

So, you claim I don't have good manners. Now in addition you also heard my performance and decided that the quality wasn't good enough to respect my opinion?

I don't get this anonymity business of the forum, that in itself is bad manners, but anyway, it doesn't matter to me who Marik is, I've had my share of comments through a life time, I don't have to worry about it now.

I thought I was being kind by saying things to you privately rather than publicly.

You are right, I don't remember every word and the order of the words. The fact that "I" came first in the sentence does not tell the order of things and at any rate it should have been "many other people and I".
Best,
Rami

This is very silly in my opinion that you are accused of anything negative Rami. I read the entire post, and nothing, not the quote from the private email or anywhere else do I see a lack of manners. Some people don't like confidence in a person. Just let it wash like water off a ducks back!

I'd love that, but these idiots won't stop, so I'll take their own advice of
"Never argue with idiots..."
and won't argue with them anymore.
