The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Bay Area Concerts

I'm interested in finding out Bay Area concerts.  I am a student at UC Berkeley and I would like to go to concerts that is reasonably accessable without a car.  SF Symphony is definitely a good choice, and so is Oakland Symphony and our very own Cal Performances.  However, I would like to know of other opportunities.

Between the SF and Oakland Symphonies and Cal Performances, you've got the top shelf in this area pretty well covered.  You might consider attending performances at some of the local colleges.  San Jose State and Cal State Hayward have excellent music departments and put on regular concerts of students, faculty and guests.  Getting there without a car might be problematic, though...

The SF Jazz Festival is top of the line, and I think most of the venues are accessible by public trans.  (My advice: stay away from Masonic Auditorium.  Terrible acoustics.)
