Volodos, Chopin, and stuff
on: May 07, 2007, 10:49:55 PM

well, FI isn't really learned yet so, it may be a bit different than expected. The Volodos turned out sort of poopy, and i am not happy with that recording. I didn't even know I was being taped. And in the beginning of FI, I didn't realize may arms went up so high on the beginning two notes..  :-X

Definatly, FI is not learnt. You just improv on the second section... and messed up on it...  sorry ;D. Also you skip the dificult part of the last section, and modified several little bits of the piece....shame on you...  ;D LOL  Anyway ... Itīs a fun recording, the audience seems to be quite pleased!  ;D

About the Volodos, I  "Personaly" never liked this piece, I donīt know why people study it after all.  I would rather study the aoriginal version of turkish march, wich is much more gracefull and elegant.

Well since you gave that disclaimer, I won't go into detail.  I would say that your attire was a bit casual for a recital, don't you think?  What was this for, exactly?

Also, I don't know the Volodos version of that very well, but you need to learn how to count on the FI!!  I don't think you understand the rhythm of the middle section yet.   ;)

I wonīt  argue with this. Itīs a matter of taste. But IMO, itīs just puting a lot of fat, in something wich is already a finished piece, just for the sake of virtuosity.  And even worse because when it comes to Mozart the realy genius was on his ability to write beautifull melodies without  to many notes. I thnk itīs quite diferent than, letīīs say a piano reduction of a symphony or any orquestral piece that Lizt have done.

The part when  Volodos plays the major theme in major in the right hand and the interlude as octaves in the left is so good that even Mozart would be impressed I think.

Anton Webern is a better example of someone who could do a lot with very few notes then Mozart I think.
