Question for Chopin's Ballade no. 1 in G

I've noticed that starting from the 10th line, the piece starts to differ with the piece played in the movie "the Pianist", for in the movie the piece finishes around 5 minutes while the actual version is around 10 mins. Which one is the real one?  ???

The film has a shortened version, the full length version is approx 10 mins...I also noticed this after listening to the piece then re-viewing the pianist.
Dont know why they cut it short though...

Dont know why they cut it short though...
I suppose they chopped it because it's a film and they felt that a performance of the whole thing would be a bit superfluous. Plus, they probably wanted to get straight to the virtuosity to keep the audience interested. *Shrug* It's Hollywood.
