I have searched all over the forums and I feel that this subject has not been discussed in sufficient detail. My question is: Is there some kind of secret in playing short and very fast trills, those that last only for a split second and still you are supposed to play 5 or 7 notes, like in e.g Yundi Li's interpretation of Sun flowers or in La campanella? Is the only advice to practice trilling for like 153 years to get better? And yes I have tried the parallel set exercises, they do no good.At the moment I just practice trilling daily using 12,23,34,45 fingers and trill freely for a random duration with each finger combo.I am a completely self taught pianist and I have been able to acquire every other technique but trilling, I just don't seem to get it.
