Come to think of it, I'm not sure if I really "dislike" any kind of music.  Hmmm....

 Dear Bob:
There is only one word: respect. In spite the fact you like or dislike, that you think something is genial or crap, the work and composer have nothing to do with it. It's just one's opinion, but people seems to want to be right, to have the final word, and to know what is good and what is not. However, I really don't care anymore.
Best wishes!

Is this a frequent habit  ???

Seems a little extreme  :D

Try repeated listens.  Many pieces that I hated at first grew on me and I begun to like them.

As I already said

If you want to be sure that you don't like a piece:

Don't listen to it twice!  ;D
If it doesn't work - try something different!

If you can't say something good about the music, say nothing at all.

That's how majors proceed to make people buy millions of crappy pop cd's...
