Yes I am curious :) :P Is there something in your life that is sacrosanct, that you never doubt, that is so certain and reliable as the sun rising every morning?

For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

I have no doubt that every morning my bike computer has defaulted to kilometres.

Very frustrating.

i never doubt that there will always be math homework i couldn't be bothered to do, and that my internet will always be slow, and that there will always be means of attaining chocolate milk.

Family.

Death and taxes.

Affection from pets. :)

People who do something surprising and stupid.  I guess that goes with the general tendencies of people as a whole.  I don't think those will change and are probably reliable enough to count on.

I never doubt that competitions are completely unpredictable.  In fact, this was proven to me yet again today...  :-\

I played well, though, and I will post some videos from my recital round in a week or so or whenever I get the DVD.  ;D

At least now I can say that I performed for Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Robert Schwartz, Namiq Sultanov, Alexander Tselyakov and Pascal Nemirovski!!

I never doubt that sooner or later you will lose someone you love.  My great-grandmother died last saturday, but I found out about it today because my family didn't want to tell me the bad news the day before I played in the competition. :'(

I suppose I never ever doubt that the sun will rise, the moon will be moving around, the stars will be there, the seasons will come and go.  That type of thing.  Objects will always fall down.

I have been doing a bit of searching for this one ...  :P

But, you know, here it is :

I don't doubt that all of the answers needed in life, are somehow just "sitting" right there in front of me; at least somewhere deep within me I know that's true.  However, I do often doubt that I know what these answers are or that I am seeing them correctly, and I often doubt how to go about discerning them.

This is very deep. Somehow, when you say they are "sitting" in front of you, I see cats in my imagination :D They are doing circles with their tails, lick their fur, look around, go a few steps, stretch themselves in the sun. They actually do what they want. Sometimes they would sneak around your legs and purr, wanting to be pet. Lol ;D I don't dare to claim that life answers are like cats. But somehow I like this imgination. And to me some answers sometimes at least seem to be like these cats. :) :P

this is almost religious zeal here.  either people love mozart or hate him.  hardly anyone is inbetween.  why?  mozart is sort of 'gotcha' music.  it sounds so simple - but one little mistake is really out there.

but, i must say - chopin takes a lot of mental fortitude.  with mozart - you can glide on autopilot sometimes for about 4 pages.  chopin - every note.  good grief.  the composer's harmonies are out of this world.

i never doubt i can spend money.  am attempting to make more of it now.

Actually I don't hate Mozart.
The 20% remaining is pure genius.

You'd recognise it if you encountered it, would you, then?...

Wholly in agreement with you re Chopin...

What a shame you didn't do this a little earlier, for then you could have bought that all-important ticket to London for tomorrow's performance by Jonathan Powell at St. John's, Smith Square, where we'd have welcomed you, of course...

Have I stopped being "ahinton" yet?...

I've clicked on this thread a few times and thought about it...  and I can find a shred of doubt for pretty much everything.

Often I decide what I'd like to believe in and I forget the doubts.  Skepticism is good up to a point.  Too much doubt leads to inaction.

True. But what if lurking doubt eats your life? And you just need to find a way out? A tiny bit of a part of truth. I maybe am naive but I never doubt truth. I never doubt that there is something like truth, somewhere.

It is sure that nothing is sure, and even that isn't sure.  :)
I like to always keep in mind that everything i know and my whole perception is based on axioms which are either outside of categories like wrong or right, or are either wrong or right, or can't be proven. Most importantly, it doesn't matter. When i dig deeper and deeper, some things that i thought were true turn out to be false and vice versa, and i have reason to believe this is an infinite process. That's why the saying above is always true, in other words, it is true that there is no (one) truth. That's the most fundamental truth for me.

However, it *is* true that mozart sucks. :P
