Why is that sad? To me, its triumphant. Think of how many millions of human lives are better because of that vast amount of production. If none of those pictures were true, we'd be living more like savages, our lives would be shorter, and there would be fewer of us. Is that what you really want?

And yes...I recognize that many of those things can be used for the wrong reasons, such as guns. I know that production does not have a linear relationship with "fewer problems," quite the opposite. Still, my point holds.

That begs the question of "is the artist using evil to uncover evil"?

I wonder how many computers are retired every month in the US?

If we only spent as much time and money researching space travel as we did f*cking things up in Iraq we'd be able to get off this hellhole and infect some other planets. Stephen Hawking is right, we need to diversify. Wouldn't it be nice to go to a planet where there's no land with false religious significance to fight over? A nice, clean slate. Ahhhhhhhh.

Did he personally count the number of whatever is on the picture, for example? So how does the software that he uses work?


Also, those pictures that are made up of small pictures. Like the face of George Bush made up by thousands of pictures of chimps making crazy faces. I remember those style of pictures from childhood. But they didn't have computers back then able to do that, right?

So I wonder about the details.

Possibly. The amount of money we spend on those things is negligible compared to the total amount of wealth created in the US and the world, though, so not MUCH better, but I agree...the world would be a better place without weapons and wars.   As long as screaming religious zealots threaten innocent people however, wars will need to continue. (you insert your own interpretation of who is the religious zealot and who is innocent, we may disagree on that)

Well if you look at them closely, the details all look alike.  Take the one with the guns for instance, which only depicts only 1 gun model.  The artist just came up with a pattern (simple or complex) and multiplied it the number of times necessary.  A computer with photoshop would be able to do this.
