Hi, just slapped down $16.95 for the PianoBook only to discover it doesn't cover digital pianos. The PianoBook touts itself as provided the wholesale pricing for 'most' varieties of pianos, which is crucial information before you even think to talk to a salesman about buying a car (oops...I mean a piano).

So how do I find out what is a good price, e.g. for a CLP-295GP? The sticker price is $9650, this seems to be the only number I can get over the phone from a US salesperson (although prices in UK and Europe are available online). There is currently a used piano CLP-295GP on sale on ebay for $6300, and it quotes an anonymous salesperson that it would have sold for $8800 if new.

Has anyone succeeded in getting a CLP-295 for less than $8K ? [Or have any other advice on negotiation].

Thanks, john

For another price point, new GL295's are now selling in Houston for $7200 including shipping. Maybe Yamaha is clearing them out to get ready for a better model?
