Performance-ready repertoire
on: July 08, 2007, 11:28:46 AM
Hi everyone,
I am curious to know what your repertoire is if you only include pieces that you could play convincingly at this very moment from memory...on command, per se. With your list, please state your current relationship to music (concert pianist, non-professional music lover, MMus student, etc.).
Thanks.
P.S. PLEASE don't lie and try to impress everyone with a list that isn't 100% truthful. It won't do anyone any good

Asked if he had ever conducted any Stockhausen,Sir Thomas Beecham replied, "No, but I once trod in some."

i don't have anything performance ready at the moment - but i could easily have about three pieces in one week. come back next week.
i think it's like cycling. once you know how to do it - you just do what it takes.
now, i am crying all because of this question. but, later today will forge ahead - despite the constant crank of 'why am i doing this?' i just am addicted to piano and like to play. i don't always practice for performance sake - but my goal is performance.
