Piano for 8 hands...
on: August 14, 2007, 05:43:07 PM
Hello everybody !

Three friends of mine and I are willing to attempt to play a 8 hands work for one piano... It is certainly tricky but we will give it a try... :D

However, I didn't manage to find such a thing in every music library I went to... I know it exists, though (I have seen a performance on TV)...

Can anybody help me to find a music sheet? Thanks ! :)

Quentin (Paris, France).

Here's something I found...

Not a super interesting composition, but it's 8 hands on 1 piano.  Alternatively, there's lots to choose from if you have 8 hands on 2 pianos and you can modify some 6 hands on 1 piano stuff if you want as well.  Or do what the 5 Browns do and have 10 hands on 5 pianos...

I actually played the Star Spangled Banner with 3 other people once. It was 2 piano, 8 hands. It came out pretty well, although it was hard to coordinate. I wish I knew where the director got the sheetmusic from.

Thanks for the link, jlh ! I am going to look at it!

Unfortunately, we have only one piano at our disposal (well, we could have two, but it is a bit difficult...) so I am going also to search works for 6 hands and try to arrange them for 8 hands.
