Incredible!  What a performance!!!  I called my best friend, Martha Argerich, and told her to check out this video.

She said, "Wow!! That's hotter than two rats f**king in a wool sock!"

You may have played op.39 no.1 well, but I think we can all agree you haven't yet gorilla-raped it!

I appreciate that. thx lol  ;)

I am beginning to think they have a point!  Have you in fact ever seen the piano so brutally gorilla raped before?  I certainly have not.  Let's give credit where credit is due!

Ah yes, from when the Nazi bombs exploded the gates of the London Zoo, sending out hoardes of virile chimpanzees.... unfortunately Madame Hess was the only woman braving the streets at that time... I think I also saw that movie in my local "underground" video store?

You call those improvisations "piano playing"?

I'm hurt :-[

Honestly, yes I think it is morally unjust to perform like this in public.

Am I to speculate that Limp Dong would be capable of playing at the same tempo?

If he wanted to he could. That's pretty obvious.

And he would make many less errors than gorilla rape boy.

It's difficult to say, what use is mechanique without spirit?

What use is spirit without accuracy? Sure GRP's performance is fiery, but classical piano doesn't    play by the same rules as shred metal. Ya gotta hit the right notes (or most of them).

Quote
One could say the same thing backwards, but since a high level of mechanique is on display on both, the spirited performance objectively wins the day, and the gold medal.

Since the shape of the RH figurations have been substansially altered rhythmically, it's hard to gague the level of mechanique. It is certainly not on the level of the Korean gentleman, that's for sure.

But I enjoyed this performance. I've heard LOTS worse. If he (?) can get the notes even and correctly placed, there's some possibility of art. Very expressive.  8)

But a freakin' mess...  >:( ::)

Not a moral issue. Performance doesn't merit comment.

how come there is no "definitive" choice in the poll. All these options suggest something is wrong with it. Or is courageous the one to choose?

There's another option missing: "Interesting. Which piece is it?"     :D

Would you have preferred one that said, "legendary, this performance proves this man is god!"
