Richard Goode master class

Just came from a Richard Goode master class at Mannes College in NYC. It was one of the best master classes I've attended this year. The participants played the Schumann Fantasiestucke. Brahms Ballades Op. 10, Brahms Handel Variations, and the Schumann Fantasy. I was pleased to see it was well attended, unlike some other master classes I've seen there. Has anyone else seen Goode in a master class or recital?

I attended Richard Goode's recital here in Reading/UK on 14 Nov. On the programme: Mozart Sonata in F, K533/494; Debussy Four Preludes; Beethoven Sonata Op. 81a, Les Adieux; and Schubert Sonata in A, D959.
His reputation as one of today's leading pianists is thoroughly deserved. There was tremendous emotional power, depth and expressiveness. A quite unforgettable recital.

Dear Pianorak:

I've seen him a few times (twice, I think) in recital at Carnegie Hall. For me, at least, he can play the most serious and lengthy piece and still have me on the edge of my seat and concentrating the whole time. I remember a performance of Schumann's Davidsbundler that was amazing.

I am just green with envy: Carnegie Hall and Mannes Music School all on your doorstep. I trust you are truly grateful!    Have just finished reading "Music is my Faith" the autobiography by David Mannes. What an amazing story - and what a gifted family.
