I live 15 miles away and being a big Finnissy fan, i'd better get a ticket.I wonder if AH is going.Thal
Please do some California dates soon!
Someone please record the Sorabji-Strauss Salome, I've been dying to hear what it sounds like.
There can be no question that Jonathan has already contributed more to the Sorabji cause than any other performer in history, not merely in the sheer quantity of work that he has accomplished but also in the textual precision, lucidity, structural clarity and compelling manner of his interpretations which have by now become recognised as benchmarks of Sorabji performance; clearly, there is much to which to look forward.Best,Alistair
Oh wow I will come to the London one if I am free! What about Yonty Solomon? Is it true that Mr Powell was inspired by Yonty's playing? I heard that from someone. I love Yonty's sound. I have note heard Mr Powell play, but I really look forward to the concert, and really hope I can make it!
How do I get tickets? Can you play on the door?
Alistair, can you shed some light on what happened to Yonty Solomon's recording of Sorabji's 3rd Sonata? I'm sorry for hijacking your thread Jonathan.

Jonathan Powell will you ever come to Norway to play?It would be great
There is No[r] way!
(not to mention some living Scots composer whose name escapes me right now
There must be a way!
Finnair?
I did not know he played Maxwell Davies.
To Norway?
yes
I would suggest going by Smyril Line myself. So much more relaxing by ship.
Regretfully, i did not even get home from work until 6.30pm.
Much has been written of Mr Powells abilities
so i am wanting to see him live.
Perhaps if he played a fantasy by Thalberg or a sonata by Woelfl, i might make a more concerted effort.
