Sergio Tiempo's Encores
on: October 23, 2007, 01:28:02 PM
Last Night I went to see the great Sergio Tiempo, the program was Haydn's 50th sonata, Chopin 3rd sonata, Ravel Gaspard de la nuit and Liszt's consolation 3 and Mephisto Valse.

As an enconre he played Chopin 4th nocturne and the impressive 16th Prelude.

And my question is about one last encore that he played, something latin I guess, with very Jazzy harmonys and a glissando at the end. Does some one knows what piece may be?

Thanks

For us musicians, the music of Beethoven is the pillar of fire and cloud of mist which guided the Israelites through the desert.  (Roughly quoted, Franz Liszt.)

Was it the last of Ginastera's Danzas Argentinas? It has a gliss in the end, is kinda jazzy, and has some great rhythms.

Retrouvailles is probably right. It's in his rep. He's recorded it and well, as a protege of Margaret... :)

Yes, indeed, I meant Martha. (What the hell was I thinking, or drinking, or smoking when I wrote Margaret?}
