Historical information or musical information?
Asked if he had ever conducted any Stockhausen,Sir Thomas Beecham replied, "No, but I once trod in some."

G'day

Thank you for replying my post. I need both, if you have any infro related to this song. Sadly I hardly know Mendelssohn, not a lot to do with him. Thanks

Actually, I am not sure how to attach files to posts on this forum...or if it's even possible. If you give me your e-mail address I can send you a fair amount of information in .pdf format.

Best of luck!

I didn't do that - it's a feature that is built into the pianoforum website. :)

Do you want the information I have? If so, I need your e-mail address.

This piece is ranked as level 6? How weird...
The left hand part is tricky enough. Besides, it's also hard to manifest the highest pitch theme of right hand.
Personaly, I think this piece is more difficult than Mendelssohn's Spring song, which is ranked as level 7, and even Prelude & Fugue opus 35 no 1, which is ranked as level 8+.

Do you have a university library near you?  Go in and do a search for Mendelssohn.  You will get a bunch of results.  Pick a book that looks promising and go to the section in the stacks.  Find the book and look at the adjacent books!  Look on the shelf above and below and also the ones behind you.  You will find stuff that may interest you!

If you have some results with call numbers in different sections of the stacks, go there too and repeat the above exercise.

I did a preliminary search and you may find Mendelssohn (but not necessarily SWW) material of interest that begins with the following call number
ML 410 M5
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Stay away from the books... everything he has to say is CLEARLY written in his music...
