I've heard a good chunk of his piano music. His 3 piano sonatas show a very unique tonal language, sort of along the lines of Bolcom. His etudes on the other hand are purely technical. I have never seen anything like them in terms of technique study. He also had some piano concertos, including one "in six movements" and another for the left hand alone, both of which i enjoyed very much.

I can't find his scores on internet...  I think I have to buy some of his stuff to try play, just to see how it sounds. I am interested in his Toccata, I think it is the 3rd movement of his 1st Sonata.
If you know where I can find his scores for free... I would appreciate! :)

Gamingforce.

And yes, the last movement of his 1st sonata is very good. Difficult, though.

If I give out any more specifics about the place, the admin will edit my post. I have tried in the past to give the website address, to no avail. I'll just tell you that it is a place to get many recordings and sheetmusic (copyrighted or not) for free.

Your local lending library.

Or buy them! The prices of all the (many) Rorem works I have (no solo piano, before you ask) have been very reasonable.
Instrumentalists are all wannabe singers. Discuss.

Ned Rorem does need the money. He is still very much alive.

Yes - Richard's recommendations here might almost seem to have a tinge of the homily about them, given the fact that they appear here. To what extent Mr Rorem "needs" the money I cannot say, but he is certainly entitled to it! That said, the art of persuading people on certain internet fora that actually using hard currency to puchase music scores (especially those by living and recently deceased composers) might be seen as a challenging pursuit when one's audience contains so high a proportion of people who have convinced themselves that downloading is the only way that scores can be obtained.
