This thread is becoming rather tedious...
I would not think to argue this point but, just out of interest, how might you define "rather" in this context?...(!!)...

Splitting that sentence by separating its first four from its second four words could be quite educative...

From his biography:

"...has 'given' master 'classes' 'on' pedantry in Europe, Asia, and on 'the' internet..."

From the second paragraph of the same verbose document:

"...Mr. Hinton 'made' his PF (!!) Nit-picking 'debut' in August '2005.'"

I doubt that he need his dictionary for that.  ;D

Obviously not an autobiography.  ::)

So now you presumably know otherwise and, for the avoidance of doubt, I should stress that my expertise in the realms of coiffure is extremely limited...

Isn't it amazing how many people rely upon the Wikipedia of their severely limited imaginations?! For the record and for the avoidance of doubt, I've never given any masterclasses on subjects of which I have insufficient knowledge to do so and, if this alleged document (whose bibliographical source you naturally and conveniently omit to identify) is truly verbose, all criticisms of that need to be addressed to its author (if any such author there be)...

The sebacoidally challenged may on occasion fail fully to appreciate the salient fact that undue concentration on the picking of nits usually interferes with the process of splitting hairs and that trying to do both of these things simultaneously rarely if ever works successfully...

Nothing, obviously - except, perhaps, for the fact that a semicolon might arguably have been more appropriate than a comma in your statement above...

So might he be if he spelt grammar "grammer" as you have done here; please accordingly pass on to a more deserving cause any gold star that may otherwise have been been awarded to you...

Yes, well spotted indeed and, as I have had cause to observe on many an occasion both here and elsewhere, my typing skills remain below par; thanks for drawing attention to the error, which I shall now correct.

Perhaps if you thought more about what you are typing, rather than everybody elses "English", these little errors may not happen?  :'( :P

Sadly, your apparent optimism is unfounded; typing skills (or lack of them, as in my case, to which at least I have the grace to admit) and linguistic ones are far from the same thing. If I didn't think about what I was typing, I'd be unable to post anything (go on, there's a reply waiting to escape there, surely?!). In any case, I spend very little time thinking about others' English usage.

Oh - and while we're about it, why not pop a non-grocer's apostrophe between "else" and "s"? (well, I think you asked for that one...)
