Piano buddies----I am starting this Sonata. What recordings and any technicals hints would be of great help.

First of all, his name is Ginastera.

My favorite recording is probably either Terrence Judd or Fernando Viani on Naxos. It is a great sonata. I've personally never played it though.

I have Adrian Ruiz from an old LP.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I believe you mean Santiago Rodriguez...a very underrated pianist - Silver medalist at 1981 Cliburn, current Artist in Residence at the University of Maryland...in terms of Ginastera, he premiered the second sonata at Alice Tully Hall

(and to anyone interested, he is in the process of recording the complete piano works of Rachmaninoff...and they're quite good)

Jam----I have heard him live before. I like his playing. I think he also has a cd of Ginastera Sonatas. Thanks :)
