From Suite Espańola.
Recorded on an old worn Bösendorfer grand!

Hi danilo,

Very expressive piano playing.  That's a lovely piece isn't it?  The Bosie sounded pretty good actually and seemed in tune too.  Nice job!

Nicely played. I've always felt that the Spanish composers don't get much mention here on the forum. I recently went through a real phase where I just couldn't play enough of it and learned a good portion of Granados' music as well as Albeniz. The several Iberia Suites of the latter are particularly interesting. I find much of their music very muscular and great for strengthening the fingers. Thanks for sharing.

 hey danilo!
you play very well and this piece is so beautiful. i like your expressive phrasing in the middle section, and the general balance between melody and the rest is perfect.
 are you from italy?

Thank you very much! No, I'm not from Italy. Half swedish, half yugoslavian.
It is a very beautiful piece! I think the middle section is one of Albéniz' real gems!
I agree Gerry, when you start playing Albéniz, it's hard to stop! His rhythms, lyricism, harmonies sort of get to you.
Yes, rachfan, I'm surprised at the sound of this grand, especially when recording it. The soundboard is quite cracked, tuning pins too loose, bass quite dead and treble not exactly alive and brilliant. What surprises me is what a good tuning could do to it! It really woke up!

Thank you, even after five years - for this inspiring contribution. I'm playing this piece at the moment and still seeking to improve it.

Very inspiring! If you have ever sat on the square in the shadow of the Alhambra, you can understand what the composer was trying to portrait. I have spent some time in the Alhambra and in the shadow and this piece in the way it is played brings backs the images.
