When she was talking about piano related stuff, she was kind and informative - though the stream-of-consciousness was very hard to take. Also, sometimes her information came straight through another source without any annotation or editing so it was difficult to figure out what exactly the point was. But it usually was an attempt and sometimes lucidity broke through and was helpful.
On the religious/political stuff: I used her as a bellwether to the wackiness that the USA has always had and has always seemed to overcome through the messy business of democracy. That is why the last years of Bush has always been tough - the wacky seemed to overcome the rational in our democracy and the rational were left with only rational tools to work with - which is a distinct disadvantage when the wacky are in power. Hence, to me, pianistimo was invaluable to me in showing me how these people "think" - because, really, before reading her postings, I thought people like her were an urban legend. So seeing her wacky postings showed me who the people are who put the U.S.'s present leaders in power, and it showed me how that happened, which I never could quite fathom before seeing how one of those "minds" work (i.e. pianistimo's).
It also showed me the power of tribal affinity. She has defined herself by her membership in her fundamentalist political tribe and the benefits she thinks she gets from that membership cannot be displaced by something like logic. To most people, changing our mind when confronted with logical/scientific facts is relatively simple - to people like pianistimo, changing their mind would be a matter of tribal exclusion - which is unthinkable to someone who self-identifies with the tribe. One must first deal with getting the person out of the tribe - THEN, you can start working on logical/scientific arguments. And that wasn't going to happen in ol' pianostreet! We were just the pagans throwing spears at the circled faithful...
