The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. (Hunter Thompson)

Keith Jarrett - Last Solo

To those interested in classical piano and even jazz I would highly reccommend this DVD. Keith Jarrett is one of the greatest improvisers of the 20th century ---he absorbed nearly every style there ever was.

He's considered a jazz pianist but his style encompasses so much more than this specialized area. Its very entertaining to watch Jarrett play.

I would like to add that if you subscribe to any common notions about improvisation, you are in for a huge surprise. Jarrett's improvisation is vastly more complex than mere "noodling around" or improvising around tunes (although he does do this, in his encores)

Have a look at The Golden Age of Piano - It is a great coverage of such artists as Serkin, Horowitz, Hess, Gould, Rubinstein, Arrau, etc.   Phillips, 115 min, narrated by David Dubal
A modern house without a flush toilet... uncanny.
