Those prices aren't so bad.  The last MTNA conference I went to had numbers in the 300 - 400 range.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

If you're a student, or a piano vision member, it's much cheaper, like 150 I think. I'm a member, and it's like 50 a year, I suggest joining.

This is such an interesting subject. Pitty I live so far away from the USA!!!  :'(

I just attended to a masterclass with one of the teachers, Luiz de Moura Castro (he is simply amazing!), and he gave us a little hint about what he was going to present on this conference.
Specially in Europe, a great deal of the problems faced by the students in a not so early stage come from the lack of a proper teaching of the "Basics" (the subject of the Conference). For instance, Moura Castro asked us how we could possibly play a Czerny étude or some Chopin or Liszt pieces and études if we never played properly (and by this he means "cantabile" and simple polyphony) Anna Magdalena's Book, or Clementi's Sonatinas or even some Chopin Mazurkas and Préludes in an early age. These are some of the things he will play in the Conference.

Hope you'll enjoy it!  ;)
