Please help identify a long lost piece...
on: May 01, 2008, 04:16:54 PM
Hi, many years ago I remember playing a piece titled "Repentance." It's very short, 2 pages, and I'm pretty certain the composer is Russian. I'd like to get the sheet music for it, but Google searches have tended towards Final Fantasy or religious elements. Can anyone help identify who the composer is?

Thanks!

Maybe it's under the Russian name, which in my dictionary looks as look as my arm and I din't know how to transliterate it.  Does this ring a bell with any Russian speakers?  Do you remember anything of how any part of the melody goes, to help?

Doesn't Rachmaninoff have a short piece called Repentance, or something along those lines? It might be one of his earlier pieces. I could be wrong...

i remember thinking Rachmaninoff too. I think you're right. Now to hunt down the sheet music... I tried a google search and it wasn't much help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I can't think of "repentance", but I do know "Remembrance" , a lyric piece by Edward Grieg. I know he is not Russian, but I figured that it may be worth a try looking it up. It is short enough...
