Satie's Gnossienne No. 1

I unearthed this score along with his Gymnopedies and such, and when I looked at this piece of music, the first Gnossienne, there aren't any measure lines to denote different measures and there isn't a time signature. What the heck? Can anybody help me out? Is it just my score, or was Satie bad at writing music correctly?

Bars are a cage for the development of music!

Well thats not really true at all but, but a lot of 20th Century guys don't use a metre (not that Satie doesn't, he just doesn't use bar-lines, it's clearly in 3/4 metre, and a lot of them use frequent bar lines), and to say such a thing would mean that they are also similarly not good at writing notation.

I think it's quite awesome. I'm learning it at the moment and at first I found them strange, but now I'm used ot it, and it's quite a novelty.

I like this piece.

I like the way he describes the way to play sections.

Try to imagine what he is trying to tell you.

I'm sure it loses something in translation.

I believe a complete line is missing from this score! I'm sure Satie would love to see his line 6 returned.

WHAT??? I think the semibreves every 4 beats contradict that... 4/4 for sure.
