What an ugly word. Don't utter it. It's just some kind of modern fashion, an odd blain on what should be a clear distinction between men and women. Uh, i cringe every time i hear that...

I tuned into the radio some time ago to hear the person who came up with the term metrosexual, it was a fashion critic or something.  He/she wanted to coin a new term 'ubersexual'.  I think it was to mean a guy who wears makeup, but shaves his head to still seem masculine...  Or some goofy crap like that.

I've never considered metrosexual a word. As a matter of fact, my computer has that red line under it.
It's just another term society has created to upgrade itself--that is, make itself feel "special." Another example of this would be "supervirtuoso."

right. Or the term 'mega-savant' i heard the other day. As if there was some kind of hierarchy: genius - savant - megasavant ( - god ??). Oh dear...

Yesterday at the grocery store the clerk made a comment about their 'turbo-pen'...  But it really was turbo, looked like a spaceship.  I would need a new desk if I had turbo-pens because they just wouldn't fit into the drawers.

I agree, people can make a lot of money off crap.  That's what marketing is for.

But I'm quite sure that Marc-André Hamelin has never considered himself - or even been accused of being - a metrosexual either.

I always thought that a metrosexual was someone who got his/her kicks from having sex while travelling on a city metro system, but who cares...

New York. London. Paris. Hong Kong. Mumbai.

If you find yourself becoming aroused by the mere mention of these places, then you may be a metrosexual.

I don't get the point of your statement about Hamelin. No one said he was metrosexual.

No, I can see that you don't. Let me help you out here. My reference to him was simply a follow-up to someone else's reference to the term "supervirtuoso".

If that´s equivalent to suppressing the urge of mating with every attractive woman you (I?) come across then yes.
