Please identify this piece; impress me PS
on: June 02, 2008, 03:56:57 PM
Well this is not a piano piece, but there is a piano accompaniment in there, so it technically counts, but this obviously is a soprano aria from some opera.

Can anyone give me the name of this song, and the opera?

Thanks.
Bach - Partita No.2
Scriabin - Etude 8/12
Debussy - L'isle Joyeuse
Liszt - Un Sospiro

Goal:
Prokofiev - Toccata

Queen of the Night vengeance aria from Mozart's "Magic Flute."
" . . . cross the ocean in a silver plane . . . see the jungle when it's wet with rain . . . "

Indeed, a snippet from somewhere in the middle. "Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen" ("Hell's vengeance boils in my heart"), and here's the full aria:

and the first aria of the Queen of the Night, also with that crazy coloratura at the end
