Anyone interrested in recording some piano parts for a progressive metal album?
on: June 23, 2008, 03:51:56 PM
I'm producing a CD's worth of songs my friend has mainly written, we're recording and practicing them over the summer (just a home recording style job, but we're going to try and do a pretty good job of it) then gigging and promoting them next year during uni term time, I'm playing bass and doing all the synth stuff on the recordings, there are a few piano parts however which I was going to use midi and samples for but it occurred to me that someone here might like to do it.
Here is an example of the kind of thing it'd be (this is just a midi export of one of the more prog influenced tracks), the piano parts are at around 3:25, 4:50 and 6:35.

Most of the parts are that kind of thing, the tracks are quite varied in style though, there is one piano heavy track with a lengthy piano intro and piano parts for most of the track. I can give you midi exports and sheet music for all the material and I'll send you a backing track with bass and drums that I'd want you to record the piano to (preferably as a separate track so that I can mix it separately).
We're not looking to make a profit out of this CD, just using it for promotion so I'm not going to offer any payment (on the off chance that we do end up making any profit, I'll send donations), we'll credit you for all the recordings and put a reference email or link to somewhere if you want though. You can of course have a copy of the finished product too, to show for your efforts.
Maybe a little different from what you normally play, but it anyones interested reply here, pm me or email me at oscarsouth@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Oscar.
