Repertoire suggestions
on: July 13, 2008, 05:29:06 PM
OK, I'm sure you all "hate these topics" but I need some suggestions.
I play around level 6-7, might be willing to try a level 8 piece if it's not TOO hard and I'm motivated.
Here's my repertoire:
Handel - Concerto in G
Beethoven - Sonatinas in A and D
Mozart - Sonata Facile and Alla Turca (sort of)
And I can play the first page of Grieg's "wedding day at the troldhaugen" but the rest is too hard for me. That's about it...
My teacher wants me to learn Beethoven's Sonata op.79, which is a piece I like but don't really like the idea of me playing (not sure why)
Anyways, do you guys think I'm just being silly about the sonata? And what other suggestions do you have for me? Thanks

Working on:
Beethoven - Waldstein Sonata
Bach - C minor WTC I
Liszt - Liebestraume no. 3
Chopin - etude 25-12

Ok well it depends what its for? just pleasure? why not try -
Chopin op.9 no.2 Nocturne in Eb, its not too difficult but very beautiful
Mozarts Fantasy in Dminor - Its a nice mozart (imho)
Beethoven - Pathetique sonata Mvt 2 - Its a slow nice piece.
(If your willing to try it) May be a bit above your level but no harm in trying - Rachmaninoff 18th variation to Paganini - Very beautiful piece.
Hmmm try some Granados valse poetico's
Just some suggestions
