as i see it - if you really want something - don't wish for it.  don't even tell anyone you want it.  just grab it when it comes around.  or, if it's really difficult to obtain - then pray about it.

My dad used to say "if your friends jumped off a cliff, would you too?"...  and I found out, yes, I would:


It's about 2 hours away, and gets busier every year, everybody leaves their garbage just lying around

First time I went there, arrived after dark and some friends take me to the edge of the cliff.  Pitch black night, I had no idea what was in front of me.  That had to be the best way to experience it, completely blind

Behind the camera view is a taller cliff.  Maybe 4-5X the height, it's hard to judge.  Turns out there's a deep instinct that prevents people from jumping off something that high.  It took me about 20 minutes to actually jump off it.  I would determine to jump, then at the last second my body would just hault "nope, not gonna let you do this"

Across the lake to the right of the camera view is a mountain peak, a cliff with loads of jagged rocks at the bottom.  I cut my finger just crawling across the rocks.  We looked up at the cliff and thought "this is a bad idea, but lets climb that cliff"...  Near the top the only way to get up was using a wobbly foothold, that's when I looked down and realized it would take one small misstep to turn any one of us into ground beef.  But it was really nice up there, we could see clear over the plains and there were these crazy birds up there that would try to scare us off by flying directly at our faces.

are you kidding. is that you?  there's a huge rock down there.  you're heading for it.  did you flip completely around and miss the rock?  how does one do this successfully (without passing out).  hmm. the most dangerous thing i've done in the last few years is squeezing into a subway just as the door was closing.  yes, a dare from a fellow piano student when we were touring nyc.

That's just a picture I pulled off google.  All my flips end up with a belly flop I'm not sure where my pictures are at.

I've never heard of anybody hitting a rock, it's actually really deep but the water is so clear it looks shallow.  The high cliff especially, seems like it's about 2 ft deep, haha.  You're not supposed to be able to touch the bottom from the high cliff, but when I finally jumped off I went at the wrong angle and didn't get far out so I wound up springing off the bottom.

I used to believe that everybody was more or less the same level of intelligence, just expressed in different ways...  Until I got to know certain people better, who made me think "wow, this person is really not that bright".  Not that everyone has to be intellectual, a lot of people are amazingly smart in their particular way of doing things...  But I swear there are also some who just can't seem to connect the dots.  I can only be happy with them if I don't get to know them too well.
