Auditions and new Pieces

Okay so , Im auditioning for a couple of schools

Manhattan School of Music
New England Conservatory
The Juilliard School (this is the school im DYING to go to but then again who isn't)
Mannes College The New School for music
Longy School of Music

so I have a lost of all the requirements for the conservatories EXCEPT Juilliard...
 
My teacher just guessed that it would be the standard Repertoire which I have listed before on other posts I have made, my teacher just gave be Douze Notations by Pierre Boulez on top of all the other pieces I havent finished if anyone has played those please give advice. Anyway, I was just wondering of there is anyone here who has auditioned for any of these schools , what their experience was, and any suggestions advice,    sometimes I get extremely nervous before auditions and my hands and legs tend to shake which sometimes messes me up, and Im going to make sure im 150% prepared before these auditions but depite preparation sometimes nervousness does come in, if I was just performing it would be no big deal but since these are auditions  Im especially nervous, ( mostly for the juilliard auditions that is if they like my pre screening anyway) so any advice GREATLY appreciated and if anyone knows if the repertoire stays the same every year that would be great to know too.

I can't help you with specific audition requirements, but on the topic of auditions I will say that eating bananas helps to reduce nervous excitement (don't ask me what or how though), but more importantly, breathe deeply. Not excessively, just make sure you are getting a lot of oxygen. For some reason in these situations the body things it is not getting enough oxygen so it starts pumping blood like crazy, so ensuring massive amounts of oxygen is reaching your bloodstream is a real help.

I also wouldn't start freaking out about the auditions yet, as I believe Julliard's where some time in March (correct me if I'm wrong), and the requirements aren't even up yet. And please remember that Julliard is a fine school but only a name in the end, because there are plenty of other places to go where you can excel just as much.

I auditioned and was accepted to this school a number of years ago, although I ultimately went to Peabody instead. I would suggest going with diversity; a piece from each era, perhaps. Beethoven Sonatas are always a good choice.

Make sure to be well rested before entering your audition... try focusing on the pieces rather than the pressure situation.... easier said than done.
