I mostly use kazaa lite (of course i already have all the music copied to my computer from cd's too) :)

this site is good if you simply want to know what a piece of music sounds like.  They have multitudes of crappy MIDI recordings of almost any piece you can think of, and you can download them.

They also have live recordings, but you cant download them....bastards!!
