Help Finding Popular Contemporary Repertoire
on: September 12, 2008, 01:56:24 AM
Hello this may seem like a silly question but I know very minimum about the popular music as I've spent so much time with classical.
I need help finding some popular music to use in busking which most people who walk by will recognize and like, and also certain arrangements which aren't too boring or too easy for a classical pianist like myself to be able to enjoy playing.
I need about 2-3 hours repertoire that I can just read through, I am not sure where to look i have no idea, does anyone have any suggestions?
I did enjoy playing things like Titanic Theme and Bridge Over Troubled Waters, I need more pieces similar this and then I'll be happy.
Busking is what I will try now to get flexible work while i study my music, because I find any full time job just doesn't suite my lifestyle, and also it will widen my horizen to be able to experiment with different styles of music.
Thanks a lot. As I know nothing about modern music please don't feel afraid to answer I need all the help I can get.

Beatles songs ussually go down very well and Elton john songs would work
but Abba is really popular at the moment so an Abba song would work

but i don't know as such if you would find these technically challenging to play though
