Having never had any of those things really affect me (except the flouride in the water to a lesser extent), can't be sure or objective. Sounds nasty though.

I don't think the damage has been done physically as much as it's been done morally, in this, erm, lovely world of ours.

Conspiracy? I doubt it. People don't have that much imagination and I doubt they would do anything so massive on purpose. More like laziness + ignorance. So what if the future generations suffer? I'd be dead by then.
