Predictions? September 18, 2010?
on: September 19, 2008, 01:35:48 AM
Any predictions?  That's two years from today.  Maybe we can all come back and take a look.

Somehow I think I'll be about in the place I am now.  Hmm....

hahah, sure why not

I will be starting my second year of school and money will be getting thin.  Still trying to become a good pianist.  Still reading Bobs posts and procrastinating.

My auto insurance will be lower.  This time around though, my van will still be in pretty decent shape.

My dad will speak even more garbled and confusingly than ever.  My stepmom will still be shredding the same papers that she's been shredding for about 5 years already, she will have burned out a 5 shredding machines by then...  She will have a harder time concealing her insanity.

That is all I can glean from the future at this point.  See you in two years

Well its the 19th here at the time of this thread starting so that's screwed right from the start. But I would like to think I'd be finished TAFE, have a decent job and be moving out of home if not out already. And I'm taking the piano mum!

There will be razors with 4 or 5 blades. 2012 there will be ones with 6 or 8 blades. You will not get replacements for the ones with less blades, so you need to buy always new razors.

There will be cellphones with a 3000 mhz CPU and a 2 terabytes HD. And with quadrophonic mp3 player.

Yeah, I'm thining I'll still be stressed out.  Worrying about money.  Worrying about a job.  Trying to squeeze in practicing when I can.  And probably still focusing on the same goals and challenges in practice.

I looked back at one of my first posts.  It sounds like stuff I'm still thinking and wondering about today.

And I'll probably be maybe five pounds heavier and feel a little bit more tired.

Can you be more specific?  There will probably be a few hurricians each year that kill people.  Bridge collapse?  Terrorist attack?  In the US?  You know some terrorist will bomb some embassy.

I predict the US will be still be in Iraq and people will be debating whether they should leave or not.  That's not much of a stretch.

And I predict will be broke. :)

I predict there will be more prediction threads.

Ah, I have one.  A better one.  I predict there will be a military engagement somewhere that is primarily fought with robots and some AI.  That's on the West's side.  The other side would be a small country or terrorists.  It will be a battle fought by people using joystick game controllers.

People will have to evacuate mass areas because of climate change causing rising waters. This will effect the poor a lot more than the rich, they will suffer disease from the rising waters and death from lack of shelter and food. Not really a prediction, it is a reality. https://www.unwire.org/unwire/20011116/21838_story.asp

There already are razors with 4 or 5 blades! Well here there are anyways, Gilette has them.

Oh god, I know! How many blades does a man need to shave? LOL

"Now try the new Gillette 10-bladed razor! One blade has a special magnet to attract the facial hair towards the other 9 blades! One blade has miniature holes that excretes the shaving foam! Two blades trim the facial hair at a precise angle for maximum aero-dynamic potential! Another blade acts as a safety feature to prevent your partner from throwing it in the bin! Another blade is beautifully decorated for the user to look cool in front of the mirror! Another blade excretes after-shave so the user can smell strongly of feline urine! Another blade excretes a safety fluid if the user to stupid enough to cut themselves (which is impossible due to how the 10 blades are spaced out and have a safety guard!). Another blade vibrates to skim across the remaining facial hair that was left by the third and fourth blades! And the final blade closes all pores so facial hair doesn't return until at least 6:00 pm! So try new Gillette 10-bladed razor! The best a man can get! Product suitable to avaliability, terms and conditions apply, please use all Gillette products responsibly."

Hmm.... Only three months away now.   Seems to be some good, some bad so far from me.  The predictions are interesting to read.

The "another big natural disaster" prediction is interesting now too with the Gulf leak, except that's not natural.  An environmental diaster for sure.

I'm interested to see how this finally ends up.

It doesn't seem that long ago.  We'll have to make another one.  I'm thinking maybe at just a year, like September 18, 2011.

I'm still curious.  I have one big detail I still need to figure out before September 18th, something that should be resolved by then.

I think I'll make the next one for a year.  Sept 18, 2011

Already I think I'll be doing nearly the exact things I'm doing now.  Slightly different work. Same music stuff, same music ideas.

Hmmm.... I predict the U.S. will still have a heavy presence in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.  Maybe the government will say we're pulled out, but there will still be plenty of U.S. people there.

I predict no major events in the Middle East.  Just more of the constant bickering among those countries.

PS will be essentially the same.

I predict... No major environmental disasters like Katrina or the Gulf oil spill.  But the economy will do another negative medium-sized negative dip.

These are kind of boring. I need come up with some good Nostradamus-but-actually-specific ones.

Technology... things will be slightly more green.  More about electric cars and solar/wind power.  Gas prices will stay the same essentially.  New and improved gadgets will continue to come out but they won't change that much in the next year -- Just faster, cheaper, etc.  but no major changes to how people exist with technology.

I predict we'll hear about some big breakthrough with genes or bio-something that will be great, but we won't actually see anything results up to Sept 18, 2011.

Yes, I did--well, next door to where Handel once lived!  ;)

I was lucky enough to see him in concert when I was 14 just a few months before he died. He was talking about writing music for orchestras and adding classical elements to his music. It's so sad that he died so young--hard to imagine where his music would have gone.

I mean, September was a while ago (whoops...sorry guys), but I could drive, and I was scared at the prospect of finishing high school.

Now I'm graduated, and my exams start in a week :S
