Yes I find the particles confusing too, I get wa, ga, mixed up a lot. At least spelling in Japanese is more logical then English, Japanese is phonetic so you get no 'silent' letters and stuff.

I would really like to learn how to speak in informal Japanese, all this desu etc is all to polite ( which is fine, but I want to let my hair down ).

My friend has bene playing a piece called 'itsumo nando demo' but he doesn't know what the title means (quite reasonable as he speaks less Japanese than me)
Does anyone know?

I can get 'demo' and 'nan' out of it, I know what they mean, and I can also get 'itsu' though I've had a mental blank.

I think you used the correct particle but I'm not 100% sure. Made sense to me.

Anyway its worth saving up for and its small. You can find out the meaning of most everyday kanji in there by looking at how many strokes its made up of, or what simple kanji it might have in it. It says its $ 39.95 on the book. I wanted to get a big dictionary but they are like £ 50! and very heavy!

These 1945 kanji are called jouyou(which translates to "Daily Use") Kanji. In japan, before you graduate from high school, you need to study all of these. If you know this, you should be able to read a newspaper.

漢字を勉強したいなら、Nintendo DS　はとても便利です。日本語を練習するためのソフトはたくさんありますから、DS はとても役に立つです。
If you want to study kanji,　Nintendo DS is really useful. There are a lot of software for this, I'm sure it will be really useful.

Yea the phenomena exists in other cultures aswell , but we would rather describe it by one of the disorders they are given. Labels like that must be very stigmatizing, maybe it has something to do with the parents shame?
