Topic: Schumann Symphonic Etudes Var. II (Andante) - too difficult for me? (Read 3284 times)

Hi!

I have just started learning Schumann' Symphonic Etude Var. II (Andante), and it seems a bit overwhelming at the moment. I'm a late-ish starter at the piano: I'm 26 now, I have been playing the piano on and off for several years, before that I played violin and drums.

The last two pieces I've been playing were Debussy's Prelude from the Suite Bergamasque and Chopin's Prelude op. 28 nr.15. I played both of them at my teacher's recital and was actually very pleased with them.

The thing is, I'm told I have pretty good musical understanding and expression, but my technique is not that great.

So I'd ask your advice if you guys think the Etude is still too soon for me or if it's doable (it's quite short anyway)?
