Odd, isn't it, that the "Anti-Christ" charge is coming from the Alaskan "W*hore of Babylon," aka Sarah Palin, yes?

She's the same woman charging Obama with consorting with terrorists (when Obama was a mere boy of eight) whose own husband until 2006 was a member of an Alaskan liberation party whose goal is to break off from the US and denounce all things American.  And Sarah herself has attended many of the Alaskan Party conferences . . .  as well as serving as a keynote speaker as late as 2006.

Perhaps the W*hore of Babylon is also the Anti-Christ?

Obama is not the Anti-Christ.  Palin, who is indeed The W*hore of Babylon," is just blowing smoke up everyone's hoohah and saying he's the Anti-Christ.  Actually, she wants to call him a much more offensive name to stir up the American bigots, but doesn't dare -- yet.  Ignore her.

Well anything is possible. It may be Obama. But *shudders* I found something on the internet once that says the next pope is the antichrist. I makes sense to me though. Someone very influential and has charisma. It's scary.

The whole proclamation of Obama being an "anti christ" is simply a campaign technique. Palin is a stout Christian and what better way to gather supporters than to render her opponent as the absolute worst that could be? The whole notion of "antichrist" is ridiculous because in this age, any sort of behaviour could result in it being labeled as somehow "anti christ." You want an anti-christ, well look no further than the morons who continue to establish war and disregard all the things that really need work.

The anti christ will come back making people believe that he is Jesus returned a second time. I don't think that any leading figure in this world is suggesting this at the moment. The time when the antichrist or even Christs 2nd coming is unknown, no one knows the hour or day, as the bible states. But you get people thinking that they know, or change the attributes of what makes the anti christ. Studying Revelations in the bible reveals who the anti christ will be, and it certainly points to a spiritual leader not a political one. The Pope has more chance in being the anti christ than Obama.

Did a search. A lot of sites say that Pope JP2 was the antichrist. That doesn't make any sense now. He's dead, right?

And the new pope doesn't seem to be doing anything earth-shaking. I forget that he's the most influential person in the world most of the time. It's all about US elections now... Obama or McCain...

But it doesn't matter.  You won't believe me anyway.

There is no "The Antichrist," at least not in the Bible.  This concept is an American invention during the colonial period, and served as an external threat to compel congregations to toe the line better. 

The Biblical meaning of antichrist is very simple.  You know those few negative people we have in every church?  The ones who form cliques, talk behind people's backs, find fault with everybody but themselves, make life miserable for every new pastor, etc.? 

Well, they've been around forever, and not surprisingly Paul had trouble with them too.  And he referred to them as antiChristian. 

And that's all it means.  There are no supernatural powers, there is no demon possession associated, there is no return, etc.  There is no ONE antiChrist, there are just lots and lots of annoying Christians, as we'd expect.

Just for the record: There is an "Antichrist" in the bible: he is mentioned 4 times in the "Letters of John": John 1, 2.18; 2.22; 4,2-3 and John 2, 7

Nowadays it's a very pathetic and silly advert strategy to claim whatever opponent to be the "Antichrist". Sure, enlightened minds will always be able to look through these things, but not all are "enlightened" and it's a form of mass manipulation after all. Playing power games with the emotions, playing power games with the belief.

I'd love to claim I'm the anti-Christ myself, but actually as far as I can tell he was a good bloke - went around saying 'Hey, people, be nice!' and then he got nailed for it and his followers set up a new religious faction in rather dodgy homage.
