Though I have never played him, i can play harder things, so don't just give me the easy things, i want to play things i'll enjoy.
whats a good piece to play by Beethoven, having never played anything by him
That is sooooooo vague, what pieces can you play exactly?
13 years and you never got infected by the Fur Elise virus!
Carnaval:SchumannSonata No.1: BergTombeau De Couperin: RavelBunch of Mozart Sonatas, A bunch of WTC and Schostakovich preludes and fugues, I'm around that standard. When i started i didn't know it and when i heard it because everyone played i didn't wan't to.
Try Fur Elise. Seriously. It's an easy piece, should take only a few minutes, and you'd get a taste of Beethoven's noise, I mean, music. Moonlight 1st mvt is also considered easy, as long as you can reach a 9th. All Beethoven sonatas are available here free, so pick something that interests you.btw, have you played Chopin? Anything Romantic?
Oh please... for someone who's capable of playing schumanns op. 9, and has, as hard to believe as it may seem, NEVER played anything of beethovens. There are MUCH more interesting, challenging, and rewarding pieces to study than Fur Elise..or the 1st movement of the Moonlight Sonata..
To tell the truth, I find this quite annoying. What's wrong with easy pieces? Sure, Fur Elise and Moonlight are overplayed, but how many times do you hear them interpreted masterfully? Most of the time they aren't even done justice imo.Interesting, challenging, rewarding huh? There is no uninteresting piece, only uninterested student. Every piece has its challenges and rewards if only you want them.
Thanks for all your ideas, i'm thinking of No.18 the hunt what do you think
What's wrong with easy pieces? No substance, nothing to work on, no concrete challenge. Did you ever wonder WHAT was difficult in music? Unchallenging music is uninteresting music (from a learners point of view, a masterful performance of the 1st movement of the moonlight can of course be beautiful, it's simply not really fun to work on).
Skip Beethoven...
